400+ Years Ancient Cultivated Tree Puerh Tea

From the mountains of Baiying Shan in Lincang, Yunnan, this distinctive puerh is produced from carefully selected leaves harvested from cultivated ancient tea trees more than 400 years old. Unlike the Single Tree Collection, this tea is crafted from several ancient trees of the same origin, creating a balanced and consistent expression of this remarkable mountain.

These trees first took root during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, a time when Chinese porcelain and silk were reaching distant shores through expanding maritime trade. As connections between East and West continued to grow, these ancient tea trees were already flourishing in the mountains of Baiying Shan.

Over more than four centuries of continuous cultivation, these ancient trees have developed deep root systems and remarkable resilience. Their long relationship with both nature and generations of tea farmers has produced a tea of quiet strength, balance, and enduring character.

The tea is gentle, balanced, and naturally sweet, offering impressive depth and structure from the very first infusion. Rather than fading quickly, it continues to evolve with each brew, revealing an endurance that often surpasses expectations for cultivated ancient trees. With careful brewing, the tea maintains its richness well beyond twenty infusions, demonstrating the remarkable vitality accumulated over four centuries of growth.

A living legacy of the Wanli era, these ancient cultivated trees express the enduring partnership between nature, tradition, and time.

Description

Ancient (400+years) Cultivated Tree Raw Puerh

  • Leaf :Dark green leaves with abundant silvery buds and relatively few stems. The leaves are tightly twisted and evenly processed, gradually unfolding into a lively yellow-green after infusion.
  • Liquor:Bright, clear golden yellow with a gentle green hue.
  • Aroma:The dry leaves offer a naturally sweet fragrance with pronounced floral and fruity notes. The aroma lingering in the empty cup is rich, deep, and persistent.
  • Taste:Remarkably smooth from the very first infusion. Its most remarkable quality is the extraordinary speed of its transformation—from the first sip, sweetness emerges before bitterness has the chance to appear. The liquor is gentle, balanced, and naturally sweet, yet quietly full of substance. As the session progresses, its structure and depth continue to unfold, maintaining impressive richness well beyond twenty infusions. It is a tea that reveals its strength not through intensity, but through remarkable persistence and graceful evolution.
  • Infusions:Approximately 15–20 infusions with light brewing, while careful preparation often allows the tea to remain expressive well beyond 20 infusions.
  • Recommended Teaware:Porcelain Gaiwan or Yixing Clay Teapot.

got gifted this tea in my order and a letter asking for my thoughts, ive never written a review on anything and ive never had chinese tea untill a month ago, So sorry if im doing this wrong, ill try to keep it short.
The smell if this tea is incredible, its super fruity and almost juicy, its hard to describe fully but it smells almost medicinal and when wet it kinda smelled like vanilla, the taste is simallar in the first few steeps, it then mellows and tastes almost metallic, minerally and zesty in a way. The experience of this tea was very intresting and im looking foward to trying more tea on here. thank you for the gift my teahouse i really enjoyed this tea.
