Puerh is a city used to be the tea distribution centre of the Yunnan Province. As time went by, we regarded the tea from Puerh City as Puerh Tea.
Puerh Tea is a post-fermented tea, there are two types of Puerh Tea:
1) Raw Puerh (naturally fermented)
2) Cooked/Ripe Puerh (process fermented)
BangWai is located at the junction of Shuangjiang,JingDong and Lancang district, which is west of the Puerh Tea area lying by the Lancang River.
In 1991, a tea master found a tea tree in BangWai Village which, in 1993 was proven to be the oldest ( more than 1700 years old) transitional tea tree in the world. With this, it was concluded that the origin of tea was in the Yunnan province, China. In 2009, this tea tree had been produced 2kg dry tea leaves and been sold on 640K RMB which is about AUD70K/kg.
This tea has been picked from those big tea trees which over 60 years old in BangWai Village, bring us very refreshing and sweet after taste.
