This tea set is made using the lost-wax casting technique. Each piece begins as a hand-shaped wax model, which is then removed to create a mould. Crushed or powdered glass is placed inside and slowly melted in a kiln to form the final piece. The process is time-consuming and carries a degree of unpredictability, so each piece is made individually and cannot be mass-produced.
As a result, the colour is not applied on the surface, but develops naturally within the glass itself. Compared to blown glass, the tones are softer, more layered, and less overtly bright. Subtle variations and the way light diffuses through the material give it a quiet depth, often reminiscent of jade.
Green is one of the most characteristic tones in this technique, carrying a calm and natural quality. When used for tea, it allows a more understated and refined interaction between the material, light, and liquid.
Each piece may show slight variations in tone and texture, reflecting the nature of the process and the individuality of its making.
These pieces are typically made to order, following the rhythm of the process.
