Chinese Red Tea is a fully-oxidised tea.
There are 3 main types of red tea:
Gong Fu Red Tea, Souchong Red Tea and Broken Leaves Red.
The name of it is very special by local accent which is also called “ Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong” in Chinese PinYin.
Lapsan, means inner mountain, Souchong, means small leaves.
Souchong Red Tea: small leaves and mainly indicates red tea from Wuyi Mt.
We regard Souchong Red Tea as the originator of Red Tea which had been discovered around 400 years ago. After it had been exported to Europe from the early 17th century, it became popular immediately in the British royal family and even the whole of Europe, and set off the “afternoon tea” fashion that has been passed down to now.
The original Lapsan Souchong is from TongMuGuan at Wuyi Mt. in the Fujian Province, it uses the pine wood smoked the tea leaves during the process.
This Lady-Lapsan, as we can read from the name, it is with very full flavour with soft Longan sweetness taste. Really enjoyable tea to drink.
