Quiet Moments — A Blue-and-White Vase Still Life on Silk

This bespoke Silkaroma artwork is created on plain-weave silk, featuring a hand-painted interior still-life scene. At the client’s request, the composition highlights the blue-and-white porcelain vase and the pine needles arranged within it, complemented by a small fruit plate and tea utensils to evoke a calm and contemplative atmosphere.

The embroidery work is particularly intricate, incorporating at least three different grades of silk threads. Thicker threads are used for the fruit to emphasize their lustre and fullness, while extremely fine threads are applied beneath the rim of the vase to capture the delicate reflection of light. Other embroidered areas also use varying thread thicknesses to convey subtle shifts in texture and form, giving the piece depth and refined detail.

Upon completion, Raymond inscribed the poetic title “Pine Wind in Sight, Mountains in the Heart,” adding a final touch of elegance and meaning to the work.

The piece is currently presented as a semi-finished artwork mounted on professional display board, making it easy to view and preserve. Once purchased, it can be taken to any framing studio for final framing, allowing the client to choose a style and colour that best complements their home décor.
