Aged Old Tree DianHong

Chinese Red Tea is a fully oxidised tea, produced throughout the tea-growing regions of China. Each producing area develops its own distinctive style, reflecting differences in climate, cultivar, and traditional craftsmanship.

“Dian” is the traditional abbreviation for Yunnan Province, while “Hong” means red. DianHong (Yunnan Red Tea) is one of China’s most celebrated Gongfu red teas and has long been appreciated for its smooth character and comforting warmth.

This Old Tree DianHong is produced in FengQing by experienced tea makers from Yunnan Dianhong Group Co., Ltd., using leaves harvested from cultivated ancient tea trees that are several hundred years old.

Unlike many red teas intended for immediate consumption, these teas have also demonstrated excellent ageing potential. Over time, the aroma becomes deeper, the liquor rounder, and the texture increasingly smooth while retaining its richness.

MY Teahouse currently offers carefully aged Old Tree DianHong from the 2012 and 2013 harvests. After more than a decade of natural ageing, these teas have developed remarkable depth and are especially appreciated for their gentle, comforting character.
