Description
Ancient Tree Sun-Dried Red Tea
Produced from cultivated ancient tea trees more than 400 years old in Baiying Shan, Lincang, this distinctive red tea is crafted using the traditional sun-drying method rather than modern hot-air drying.
After oxidation, the leaves are slowly dried under natural sunlight, preserving a greater sense of vitality and allowing the tea to continue evolving over time. This traditional method creates a character noticeably different from conventional DianHong, offering greater freshness, clarity, and ageing potential.
The ancient trees first took root during China’s Ming Dynasty, around the Wanli era, and have continued to produce leaves through more than four centuries of seasonal growth.
The tea presents a refined balance of sweetness, structure, and gentle complexity. While enjoyable when young, its sun-dried finish allows the tea to develop further with careful storage, revealing new layers as the years pass.
A contemporary expression of an ancient tradition—bringing together centuries-old tea trees and one of Yunnan’s oldest methods of crafting red tea.
