Ancient (800+years) Hybrid Single Tree Raw Puerh 南宋古木-单株茶-生普洱

Price range: $60.00 through $400.00

From the mountains of Baiying Shan in Lincang, Yunnan, this distinctive puerh is crafted from the leaves of a single ancient hybrid tea tree more than 800 years old. Formed through the natural pollination of wild and cultivated tea trees over many generations, each tree possesses its own unique character and story.

These trees first took root during China’s Southern Song Dynasty, a period when maritime trade flourished and cultural exchange expanded across Asia. While tea culture continued to evolve in China, ideas, craftsmanship, and commerce travelled farther than ever before through increasingly connected trade networks.

Over more than eight centuries of uninterrupted growth, this individual tree has continued to thrive within Baiying Shan’s diverse mountain ecosystem. Its long natural evolution reflects the quiet resilience that only time can create.

The tea is vibrant yet composed, offering clarity, sweetness, and gentle depth. Rather than revealing everything at once, its character unfolds patiently through successive infusions.

A living witness to the Southern Song Dynasty, this single tree preserves over eight centuries of uninterrupted growth, expressing the enduring dialogue between nature, time, and human history.
