Description
This piece presents Raymond Mao’s handwritten calligraphy of the Heart Sutra — one of the most renowned texts in Mahayana Buddhism. The sutra begins with the familiar opening “Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, while practicing deep Prajñā Pāramitā…”, and explores the nature of form and emptiness through profound, concise philosophy that has inspired practitioners for centuries.
Raymond has copied the Heart Sutra many times over the years, often at the request of tea friends and Buddhist practitioners. Each transcription serves as both practice and contemplation — a moment of stillness within ink, breath, and awareness.
A full handwritten version of the sutra is currently available for collection through MY Teahouse. Suitable for tea rooms, meditation spaces, study rooms, or as a meaningful cultural gift, carrying blessings of clarity, peace, and compassion.
